Script to Screen

Throughout the project, I learned how to write a script, screen breakdown and a story itself. I learned how to create a world and a character and how important it is to know what I am trying to say through my story, what genre it is and what impact on the target audience it will have. I have learned how it is like to work in  a real industry, between scriptwriters and screen editors. It thought me how to let go of my own work and start with working on something new that I was given from someone else. It allowed me to be more critical on my work and accept the criticism from others. I learned a lot about bereavement and grief and how it is seen through eyes of scientists, different religions and cultures. The last day of shooting was not at intense as the other two days. I spend a lot of the time in the crew room trying to sort out all of the footage and photographs that I have taken. I went through about 2000 photos, but it was not something hard to me. I have done similar work in the past, since my A2 art course was based on photography. I had to decide on the best photographs and get rid of the ones that were not as good. It was not hard for me to let go of a piece. The other half of a day, I spend helping my friend with giving actors the right costumes for each scene and taking more stills on the set. I have also spoken to some of the actors in free time to learn a little bit more about their opinions on the characters that they were playing. I had the camera on me and I decided to record one of them talking about Harold - the ghost that they were playing. That day I had to make sure that all of the props are where they should be; I checked everything before shooting. On the 10th of March we did not have our makeup artist with us. I was the only one in the room, when one of the actresses came into the room and asked me if I can do her makeup. I was absolutely terrified. I  never use the products that she told me to use on her face such as foundation or beauty blender. I did tell her that it will be my first time to use such things, but she was understanding and she helped me a lot. I could possibly feel like it was unprofessional; telling her that I have no idea what to do, but it was something that was going to end up on her face, something I have never used before. I figured that it would be fair to tell her that, instead of being quiet and messing up her face. In the end I did a good job. She still looked like a human, and she was happy with what I did. The first day of shooting started on 8am. Everyone showed up along side with Eye film. The first thing I had to do was filling the coffee and tea thermoses with hot water, so the actors could drink it. When that was done, I added a couple spoons of  coffee to one of them. When that was done, I emptied the books of cookies that were meant to be used as props and placed them on a plate. We wanted the room to look more comfortable and warm. We decided to have some flowers there, but unfortunately we only had one flower in the room. I thought that I should look for at least one more around the college. First of all, I went to the college's garden, but they were getting ready for a sale, and I was unable to take anything from them. I went to the main office, knowing that someone should be there and I was right. I was given a nice plant, which I have taken to the room and placed it with a clock on top of a cupboard. On Thursday, we all have collected all of the props and costumes and move them to the location of shooting and the crew room. My friend and I went to restaurant next to our college, which is also a part of it and asked if we can borrow their plates, mugs, coffee and tea thermoses as well as a table cloth and milk cup. We have moved everything to the crew room. Afterwards, we went to drama department and  we asked if we could borrow a metal construction on which we could keep the clothing hangers with the costumes on them. We took that, as well as all of the props that we have bought in the city center to the crew room. I have shown all of the "yes" ohotos to my class and together, we decided which ones we should keep. We ended up choosing about 30 photographs, theerfore I had to cut it down to about 20 photos. I had to try to choose the ones where everyone is shown and then edit them to be ready to be send to people who payed towards our project. For the photos I did not do much. I have change their brightness, contrast, exposure and vibrance. I have also added a little bit more blue tint to each one to make them consistant. (around +5). The edited photos:
